The 2023 Symposium on the Role of Religionand Faith-Based Organizations in International Affairs was heldon January 23, 2023. It is the ninth in a series of symposiums held annuallysince 2015. This year’s theme is “Securing People’s Wellbeingand Planetary Sustainability” and features faith-based leaders,officials from the UN System, Member-States, and other experts in the humansecurity field who will discuss practices of human security and its necessityfor peace and prosperity for people and the planet.

Dr. Azza Karam
Dr. Azza Karam serves as the Founding President and CEO of Lead-Integrity - a global consultancy firm dedicated to serving the common good, through the leadership, competence, and integrity of women professionals inspired by their faiths. As a professor in the Department of World Affairs, she is the Director of the Kahane United Nations Program at Occidental College. She is a member of the United Nations Secretary-General’s High-Level Advisory Board on Effective Multilateralism, after two decades of serving within the UN system and has served in multiple leadership positions in international organisations.
