Indrajit Gunasekara, born in Sri Lanka, arrived in Hawaii in 2004.  He was shocked to learn that the coconut was no longer a staple in Hawai‘i’s diet.  He partnered with Dr. Manulani Aluli Meyer and formed the NiU Now! movement which is cultivating hundreds of seedlings for distribution to the community.
